NextGen 2025 Hackathon

UMVC, in collaboration with partners including Melbourne Connect, AIDG, Seeya, and Edtech (Cambridge), hosted a Hackathon and AI Summit, focusing on eight major AI application areas covering cutting-edge tracks such as startup incubation, human resources, mental health, medical technology, financial education, cloud computing, and ethical healthcare. At Melbourne Connect, leading figures from international technology and investment giants such as Microsoft, AirTree, and Antler were invited to discuss the latest trends, industrial applications, and ethical challenges of generative AI. Over 700 people attended in person, and over 1,000 watched online, including researchers, startup founders, and investors. The atmosphere was vibrant, making it a major gathering for the University of Melbourne and the Melbourne tech startup community.
